ABOUT
Jennifer L. Giel, PhD, CMPP, is the founder of Sterling Biomedical Communications, LLC. Her prior medical communication experience combined with her strong background in research science enable her to effectively work with clients and authors to produce high quality biomedical publications and presentations.
Dr. Giel has written a great number of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, review articles, and slide presentations, which have mainly centered on movement disorders, urology, oncology, and bacteriology. In addition, many projects involved competitive intelligence, such as literature/gap analysis and monitoring article citations and clinical trials/publications.
Dr. Giel is a member of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP). She holds an Essential Skills medical writing certificate and the Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) credential. Her research abstract, “Comparison of results reporting on ClinicalTrials.gov by funding source,” was selected for an oral presentation at the 7th Annual Meeting of ISMPP.
Before becoming a medical writer, Dr. Giel was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Giel earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology with high honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and her PhD in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.
